About College
S.L.B.S.S. Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital Handia, Prayagraj established in 1964, is one of the premier institution imparting quality medical education in the field of Ayurveda. The college is situated on Prayagraj Varanasi national highway at Handia Tehsil. This is 40 Km. away from Prayagraj in the east and 90 Km. from Varanasi city in the west. Over the years the institute has reached such heights that today it is a pioneer Indian medical health care and educational institution. The institute continuously monitors and assures the internal quality of Ayurvedic education and health care through a core committee comprising visionaries.
Infrastructure
The college has excellent, highly qualified, experienced teaching faculty, enormous infrastructure and equipments to facilitate the academic activities as well as personality development of the students. The college has a huge campus with provision of Academic block, hospital, herbal garden and hostel. Main college building has different clinical- nonclinical departments, classrooms, auditorium, audiovisual aids, dissection hall, well equipped laboratories, well maintained library. Establishment Year-
Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri ji , former Prime Minister of India, laid down the foundation stone on 13th December 1964 as Gandhi Ayurveda University. The Gandhi Ayurveda university provincialized as S. L. B. S. S. Govt. Ayurvedic college and Hospital Handia on 2nd july 1982.
